China prelim Q4 current account surplus $62.2 bln - FX regulator

BEIJING, Feb 8 (Reuters) - China posted a preliminary current account surplus of $62.2 billion in the fourth quarter of last year and a deficit of $62.2 billion in its capital and financial account, the foreign exchange regulator said on Thursday.

The preliminary current account surplus in 2017 was $172 billion and the country's capital and financial account deficit was at $9.1 billion, according to data published on the website of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).
