China sets yuan mid-point at weakest in nearly 3 weeks

SHANGHAI, Feb 14 (Reuters) - China's central bank on Wednesday lowered its official yuan midpoint to 6.3428 per dollar, the weakest level in nearly three weeks, after losses in the spot yuan a day earlier.

The midpoint was 181 pips, or 0.29 percent, weaker than Tuesday's fix of 6.3247 and was the softest since Jan. 26, 2018.

China's yuan eased on Tuesday on heavy dollar demand from bank clients and a weaker central bank guidance. (Reporting by Winni Zhou and John Ruwitch Editing by Shri Navaratnam)
