CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher on bank shares, TransCanada

Feb 15 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Thursday, boosted by the financial sector and shares of TransCanada Corp, which reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit.

* Shortly after the opening bell, the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 82.16 points, or 0.54 percent, at 15,410.43.
