Ply Gem misses 4Q profit forecasts

CARY, N.C. (AP) _ Ply Gem Holdings Inc. (PGEM) on Monday reported fourth-quarter profit of $14.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Cary, North Carolina-based company said it had profit of 21 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 16 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 19 cents per share.

The maker of patio doors, vinyl siding and other products posted revenue of $516.9 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $494.9 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $68.3 million, or 99 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $2.06 billion.

Ply Gem shares have increased 17 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 22 percent in the last 12 months.
