Curis reports 4Q loss

LEXINGTON, Mass. (AP) _ Curis Inc. (CRIS) on Thursday reported a loss of $8 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Lexington, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 9 cents per share.

The drug developer posted revenue of $3.3 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $53.3 million, or 36 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $9.9 million.

The company's shares closed at 57 cents. A year ago, they were trading at $2.43.
