National Vision misses 4Q profit forecasts

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) _ National Vision Holdings Inc. (EYE) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $28.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Duluth, Georgia-based company said it had profit of 39 cents. Losses, adjusted for pretax gains, came to 4 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was breakeven on a per-share basis.

The discount optical retailer and eye care provider posted revenue of $321.8 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $45.8 million, or 74 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.38 billion.

National Vision expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.49 billion to $1.52 billion.

National Vision shares have decreased 14 percent since the beginning of the year.
