CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises as oil, metal prices climb

TORONTO, March 9 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Friday, lifted by an increase in oil and base metal prices and receding fears of a trade war with the U.S.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was started the day up 42.32 points, or 0.27 percent, at 15,521.45. (Reporting By Nichola Saminather Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
