Kronos Worldwide posts 4Q profit

DALLAS (AP) _ Kronos Worldwide Inc. (KRO) on Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $47.4 million.

On a per-share basis, the Dallas-based company said it had profit of 41 cents. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses, came to 84 cents per share.

The maker of titanium dioxide pigments posted revenue of $453.3 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $354.5 million, or $3.06 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.73 billion.

Kronos Worldwide shares have dropped 7 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $23.92, a climb of 71 percent in the last 12 months.
