DENVER (AP) _ Resolute Energy Corp. (REN) on Monday reported a loss of $3.9 million in its fourth quarter.
The Denver-based company said it had a loss of 18 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 42 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 62 cents per share.
The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $89.3 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $88.6 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $7.7 million, or 35 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $303.5 million.
Resolute Energy shares have risen 11 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $34.97, a decline of 4.5 percent in the last 12 months.
