Vital Therapies reports 4Q loss

SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Vital Therapies Inc. (VTL) on Tuesday reported a loss of $14.6 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the San Diego-based company said it had a loss of 35 cents.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $52.1 million, or $1.31 per share.

Vital Therapies shares have dropped roughly 7 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $5.55, a climb of 25 percent in the last 12 months.
