Nigeria hopes to send oil bill to president by end March -senator

ABUJA, March 16 (Reuters) - Nigeria hopes to send the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill to be ratified by President Muhammadu Buhari by the end of March, senator Tayo Alasoadura, who chairs the upper house of parliament's committee on upstream petroleum, said on Friday.

Nigeria' lower house of parliament in January passed a version of the bill which was the same as one approved by the Senate last year - the first time both houses have approved the same version of the bill. It needs the president's signature to become law. (Reporting by Camillus Eboh; Writing by Alexis Akwagyiram; Editing by Elaine Hardcastle)
