Washington, D.C., April 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Association of Global Automakers (Global Automakers) is pleased to announce the promotion of Damon Shelby Porter, currently Director, State Government Affairs to Vice President, Government Affairs. In his new role, Porter will oversee the Association’s federal and state government activities, to better align advocacy initiatives on behalf of our members.
“As the automotive industry experiences rapid change, technological advancements and new transportation ownership models, the same cutting edge public policy issues are being raised in Washington, D.C. and in state capitols across the country. In such an environment, we are pleased to have someone with Damon’s experience and talent to lead our dynamic government affairs team,” said John Bozzella, president and CEO of Global Automakers.
Damon joined Global Automakers in 2015. During his tenure leading the State Government Affairs team, the Association has worked successfully with states and key constituencies on state legislation to promote automotive safety, green vehicle sales and connected automation.
