China's current account swings into deficit of 0.4 pct of GDP in H1 2018

BEIJING, Sept 28 (Reuters) - China's current account deficit in the first half of 2018 was equivalent to 0.4 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), after posting a surplus equivalent to 1.2 percent of GDP in the same period a year ago, the country's foreign exchange regulator said on Friday.

The State Administration of Foreign Exchange said in a statement that it expected China's current account balance to remain in a reasonable range in the second half.

China's cross-border capital flows are likely to remain largely stable in the second half, the regulator said. (Reporting by China Monitoring Desk and Kevin Yao; Editing by Simon Cameron-Moore)
