Chile central bank expected to hold benchmark rate at 3 pct through May 2020- poll

SANTIAGO, April 17 (Reuters) - Chile's central bank is expected to hold its benchmark interest rate at 3 percent through May of 2020, according to a monthly poll of 64 traders published by the bank on Wednesday. Traders have continued to push back predictions for the next rate rise in the world's top copper producer as economic growth has slowed and inflation continues to hover at the lower end of the bank's target range. According to the poll, Chile's consumer prices will rise 0.3 percent in April compared to the previous month. Traders expect annual inflation to hit 2.8 percent in 12 months, a slight uptick over previous estimates.
