White House adviser says low inflation may push Fed to lower interest rates

WASHINGTON, May 3 (Reuters) - White House National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow said in a television interview on Friday that he thinks the Federal Reserve is considering rate cuts due to low inflation.

"With these low inflation numbers, I think the Fed is actually looking at rate cuts ... Our views right now intellectually are not really far apart from the Federal Reserve, best I can determine," Kudlow said in an interview with Fox Business Network. (Reporting by Makini Brice and David Lawder)
