BRIEF-UK's Unite Says Members Reject UKDCA's Inferior Pay Offer

May 29 (Reuters) - UK'S UNITE UNION:

* UK'S UNITE SAYS ITS OFFSHORE MEMBERSHIP COVERED BY A BREAKAWAY GROUP OF EMPLOYERS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM DRILLING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION (UKDCA) HAVE REJECTED AN INFERIOR PAY OFFER

* SAYS BREAKAWAY GROUP INCLUDING DIAMOND, ENSCO/ROWAN AND NOBLE OFFERED 2% FOR ONE YEAR WHICH WAS ONLY BACKDATED TO JAN. 1; OFFER WAS REJECTED BY 95% OF UNITE MEMBERS

* SAYS AROUND 500 UNITE MEMBERS COVERED BY THE MAJORITY GROUP INCLUDING ARCHER, MAERSK, TRANSOCEAN AND ODFJELL HAVE ACCEPTED THE 5% OVER TWO YEARS BY 67%

* SAYS SPLIT IN THE UKDCA NOW MEANS THAT HUNDREDS OF UNITE MEMBERS STILL DO NOT HAVE A PAY INCREASE FOR 2018/2019

* SAYS WILL BE CONSULTING ITS MEMBERSHIP COVERED BY THE BREAKAWAY GROUP TO CONSIDER ALL OPTIONS INCLUDING A LEGAL INDUSTRIAL ACTION BALLOT (Reporting by Eileen Soreng in Bengaluru)
