Italy's PM confirms 2019 growth forecast despite Q1 downward revision

ROME, May 31 (Reuters) - Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte confirmed the government's growth forecast for 2019 after national statistics bureau ISTAT revised down its gross domestic product data for the first quarter.

Government estimates for 2019 remain "plausible," Conte told reporters on the sidelines of an event in Rome.

The coalition of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement and the right-wing League which took office 12 months ago is forecasting 2019 expansion of 0.2 percent.
