South Africa posts trade balance deficit in April

JOHANNESBURG, May 31 (Reuters) - South Africa recorded a trade balance deficit of 3.43 billion rand in April from a revised 4.71 billion rand surplus in March, data from the revenue service showed on Friday.

Exports fell 1.3% on a month-on-month basis to 103.75 billion rand ($7.06 billion) in April, while imports rose 6.8% to 107.18 billion rand, the South African Revenue Service said.
