BUZZ-Tech sector on pace for worst day in 2 months

** The S&P 500 technology sector drops 2.3%, on track to fall for the fifth session; its biggest one-day slide since May 13 amid rekindled trade worries

** The sector is headed for its worst week since December

** The biggest drag on the tech index is a 2% drop in shares of Apple Inc, which could see a hit to earnings from the latest round of tariffs according to BofA Merrill Lynch analysts

** All but 3 companies were trading in the red

** Bucking the trend was a 10% jump in Fortinet, which beat qtrly results and lifted FY revenue and profit forecast

** Top loser on the index: NetApp with 7/822% drop on forecast cut, also pressuring Hewlett Packard Enterprises Co which dropped 7/86%

** Arista Network fell 7/810% after the cloud infrastructure supplier's Q2 report

** NTAP lowered Q1 and FY 2020 profit, revenue forecast; Q1 forecast below expectations as per Refinitiv (Reporting by Medha Singh and Vibhuti Sharma in Bengaluru)
