TABLE-Distillate and residual marine fuels by sulphur content

Nov 20 (Reuters) - The table below outlines industry terms for distillate and residual marine fuels categorised by sulphur content and their permissible uses under global International Maritime Organization (IMO) rules and stricter Emission Control Areas (ECAs)requirements. From Jan. 1, 2020, IMO rules prohibit ships from using fuels containing more than 0.5% sulphur, compared with 3.5% currently, unless they are equipped with exhaust-cleaning "scrubbers". ECAs, set by individual port states, limit sulphur emissions to 0.1%.
