China slowing dramatically ... not sure how much of that is Olympics. Charles Schwab (SCHW) is top pick of Deutsche Bank ahead of rate hikes. This remains the stellar discounter. 3M (MMM) combat arms contract issues real—JPMorgan's Stephen Tusa is all over this—3M could see significant liability exposure ... "staggering amount that is hard to comprehend." Netflix (NFLX) upgraded to buy from hold by Citi analyst Jason Bazinet ... Same with Spotify (SPOT) ... I think Spotify will be very strong ... not like Netflix ... Bazinet lowered Roku (ROKU) price target to $275 from $410, and cut DraftKings (DKNG) pt to $40 from $58—citing no real growth. Chevron (CVX) has downstream issues ... the more they become cleaner the worse the margins become ... With the dividend and the buyback, I discount the Truist downgrade. Apparel maker VF Corp. (VFC) pt cut by Citi, Credit Suisse, Baird, Barclays and Deutsche Bank. Vans was such a disappointment ... China Vans slowing really egregious ... Otis Worldwide (OTIS), the elevator maker, reported Q4 adjusted EPS 72c vs. consensus 66c—China growth slowing but to be expected ... worried about this one: China service good but construction weak ... Total social rose 7% y/y in 2021 ... Morgan Stanley really positive on TikTok and Meta (FB) expecting much higher numbers ... Tesla (TSLA) stock pullback creates attractive entry point: Credit Suisse ... electric vehicles (EV) hitting an inflection point, with Tesla at the heart of it ... Beyond Meat (BYND)—U.S. food service channel and international segments could spur growth, says Barclays ... competition getting tougher though. Stephens upgrades Azek Company (AZEK), parent of TimberTech, to buy from hold ... strong demand for repair, remodel ... high-end decking ...
