In our view, the stock story has shifted and, despite the 18% decline in the stock YTD, it remains at a premium valuation vs. peers that could further contract given potential risk of downward revisions." Deutsche Bank adds a catalyst call buy idea on Wells Fargo Deutsche Bank added a catalyst call buy on the banking giant and said it believes that Wells Fargo 's asset cap could be lifted. The asset cap restricts balance sheet growth. "From here a key driver of the stock will be any data points we get suggesting when the asset cap will be lifted. We think it's possible there will be some sort of regulatory update within the next month, either formal or informal, as we have seen sporadically over the past 18 months." The firm said comps remain "extremely challenging" for Robinhood . "Revenues appear to have more or less bottomed out, which is promising. However, the comps for 1Q22 and 2Q22 are extremely challenging so revenue and earnings growth are likely to remain sharply negative in 1H22." KeyBanc reiterates Airbnb as overweight KeyBanc kept its overweight rating ahead of Airbnb' s earnings report on Tuesday afternoon and said it sees "profitability progress." "While we believe there is some risk to near-term bookings growth from omicron headwinds, we believe pent-up demand for U.S. and international travel can lead to further revenue and EBITDA upside in 2022E." Mizuho names Snowflake, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks and Zscaler as top picks into earnings Mizuho kept its buy rating on several software companies and said demand remains robust. "Meanwhile, software valuations have rebounded somewhat over the past three weeks, although we reduce price targets on high-growth software vendors to reflect the rising rate environment that has occurred over the past couple of months. Among the January-ending companies about to report, our favorite stocks to own right now are SNOW, ZS , CRWD, and PANW ." Oppenheimer reiterates Walmart as outperform Oppenheimer kept its outperform rating on shares of Walmart ahead of earnings later this week. The firm said that with a "potentially" below-consensus guide, investors should be ready to buy the dip. "We expect another solid top-line showing, but have less conviction on the bottom-line upside potential given a variety of headwinds and tail winds related to Covid-19 and cost pressures." Credit Suisse initiates coverage of Nasdaq as outperform Credit Suisse said it likes the financial exchange company's strengthening digital platform. " Nasdaq i s executing a strategic pivot to maximize its organic growth opportunity by transitioning into a software-as-a-service (SaaS) business built on a scalable platform." Bank of America downgrades Gap to underperform from neutral Bank of America downgraded the clothing retailer's stock due to worsening supply chain issues. "We are downgrading Gap from Neutral to Underperform as we expect Old Navy (ON, 55% of sales) to be disproportionately hurt by its exposure to the low-income consumer and by worsening supply chain challenges. Read more about this call here. Citi opens a positive catalyst watch on Teradyne Citi said it sees several positive catalysts for the stock in the weeks ahead for automatic test designer Teradyne. "We view commentary at Citi Industrial Conference (2/23) and North American monthly equipment billings releases (2/22 & 3/22) as catalysts for the stock." Evercore ISI opens a tactical outperform on Lowe's Evercore opened a tactical outperform call on shares of Lowe's and said fundamentals continue to improve heading into the company's earnings report on Feb. 23. "Lowe's has already guided to a -3% to flat comp for 2022 during its analyst day in December 2021, and we believe that there is limited risk that mgmt. would reduce the range on Feb 23rd. Fundamentals have improved since their original guide." Evercore ISI opens a tactical underperform on Target Evercore kept its in line rating on the stock, but the firm also opened a tactical underperform call and said it is concerned about margin growth. Evercore said it's mainly bullish heading into Target's earnings on March 1. "Our concern is that the CY22 EBIT margin guide is likely to be in the 7-8% range, implying downside to the Street's 7.9% outlook. Target has done a great job of driving traffic growth and the two-year comp sales stack is in the mid-30% range." Cowen names Macy's a top pick into earnings Cowen named the department-store retailer as its top pick heading into earnings next week. The firm said the stock's valuation is extremely attractive. "Our top pick is M given greater upside potential on category strength, merch margins, and digital innovation." Wolfe downgrades United Airlines to underperform from peer perform Wolfe said in its downgrade of the airline that it's concerned that the company is burning too much cash. "Lastly, we're downgrading UAL from Peer Perform to Underperform given our expectations for massive cash burn the next few years." Bank of America reiterates General Electric as buy Bank of America kept its buy rating on shares of GE. The firm said the conglomerate continues to make progress in its restructuring. "The 2021 10-K filing highlights GE' s progress in reducing legacy issues: The end of factoring repayment, normal pension levels, lower long-term care risks, declining corporate costs and decreased cash restructuring."
