What I am looking at March 15, 2022 Russia's advance on Ukraine appears to stall? Or are they shelling with impunity as they did at Grozny and Aleppo? I think it is the latter. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the West made a "terrible mistake" by letting Russia get away with its invasion of Crimea in 2014 ... could have starved Russia. Czech, Slovenian and Polish leaders will visit Kyiv Tuesday to visit Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Will Putin continue to shell randomly? More talks between Ukraine and Russia today. Could this trip help their prospects? Vast shutdown of China puts crimp in commodities — especially oil. I would keep buying the higher yielding oils into the weakness ... also the oil service stocks as drilling picks up. China, by the way, may not be a total lockdown. We will see. China seems to have inferior vaccines, but we have inferior data as CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky admitted to CBS, noting she doesn't have access to state data. Hence why we are using Israeli data. Marvell Technology (MRVL) confirms that neon is stockpiled and not a problem. Business has picked up in data center and enterprise since last quarter. Now looking as at much as 70% growth year-over-year. Not the culprit. New FERC rules could slow new LNG (liquified natural gas) exports immensely for new plants. This is not in the stocks because the rulings are relatively new. Be careful buying stock in new projects that have yet to apply. FERC worried about "environmental justice," notes RBN Energy. Citi's Jim Suva adds Jabil (JBL), a key Apple (AAPL) supplier, to its U.S. Focus list, reserved for analyst's highest conviction stocks. Deutsche Bank starts eBay (EBAY) with a buy, saying it is a great e-commerce stock with highly conservative numbers that can be beaten. Coupa Software (COUP), cloud software procurement, subscription growth slows to 19.6%. The hope with this one was 30% growth as far as they eye can see. Coupa plunged 29.5% in premarket trading. This is a very good example of what's wrong with the Nasdaq as this slowdown and the money it is losing make Coupa now uninvestable. Oppenheimer and Piper Sandler downgrade ... Hormel Foods (HRL) downgraded to sell from hold at Goldman Sachs. Analyst is worried about feed and grain prices, supply-chain issues involving fertilizer. Could this apply to all food stocks, or most of them? Alibaba (BABA) — when Charlie Munger almost doubled his position in Alibaba there was a major move into it by retail investors. Baird likes GoodRx (GDRX) after the collapse. Supposed to make 42 cents this year ... at $14 is it derisked? Chewy (CHWY) price target lowered to $43 from $64 at Barclays—equal weighting recognition of what's happening. Toast (TOST) derisked at $16. Baird starts as outperform. This is another fallen angel. Wingstop (WING) price target lowered from to $145 from $184 at Baird by the abrupt resignation of Charlie Morrison, who left to run Salad And Go. Five Nine (FIVN) ... once a candidate to be bought by Zoom (ZM) has its price target lowered at Wells Fargo—multiple compression; RingCentral (RNG) too. Nickel is troubled — so batteries could be hurt — still one more rumor to deal with for Tesla (TSLA) and Apple. Netflix (NFLX) still on track despite some slowing: JPMorgan.
