Investing Club: We're selling more shares to fund charitable donations that now total $400,000 in 2022

We're making a handful of sales for the portfolio to help fund our upcoming distribution to charity. As a reminder, every year Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust distributes all portfolio income and realized capital gains to qualified publicly supported charitable organizations. For more information about why the Trust gives all profits to charity, please review our About page . We're selling some stock in five positions. Please note these trades do not reflect our views on the individual stocks . As a result, we're maintaining our current ratings and price targets . We would not be making these sales if we did not have to fund an upcoming distribution to charity. We want to point out that we're being a little more aggressive with Nvidia, taking off more stock relative to others. The reasoning is quite simple. Nvidia is one of the largest positions in the portfolio with a weighting of about 5%. If we didn't take any shares off, its weighting would only increase because we would own the same amount of shares off a lower total portfolio value — a result of us sending out cash. We're selling a mix of winners and losers here because it would be bad portfolio management to fund our distribution by only selling our favorite stocks. Selling 75 shares of Boeing (BA) Selling 40 shares of Salesforce (CRM) Selling 50 shares of Honeywell (HON) Selling 100 shares of PayPal (PYPL) Selling 175 shares of Nvidia (NVDA) We also want to provide Investing Club members with another update on this year's donation to charity. Looking at our Portfolio page Tuesday, you'll see our cash position is about $100,000 lower. We sent out that amount late Monday as part of the Trust's annual contribution. That brings the total distribution to $400,000 year-to-date.
