Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) posted highest ever sales for the first quarter on blowout demand for cars and smartphones. Revenue hit $17 billion, up nearly 36% over same period last year and up 12% from previous quarter. Deutsche Bank in twisted logic likes the Apple (AAPL) subscription bundle but then doesn't like it. This is the kind of analysis I can do without. When you have a subscription bundle and there is no churn you can figure out the lifetime value of a customer. Why don't they get this? Aluminum bull Credit Suisse is calling a top in Alcoa (AA), downgrades to hold from buy. Analyst expects smelter operating rates will sharply recover in second half of 2022. Coinbase (COIN) price target lowered to $240 from $250 at Goldman Sachs, maintains a buy rating. Robinhood (HOOD) downgraded to sell from hold at Goldman ... continued weakness in account growth. Target (TGT) odd outlier yesterday, upgraded to buy from hold at Gordon Haskett on "remarkably consistent" traffic trends. Conagra Brands (CAG) sees no end to inflation and is taking it up again for the year? Behind it? EVERYTHING. The field producer's stock tumbled 5.5% in the premarket after issuing weaker-than-expected forecast for fiscal year ending in May. But if everything is supposed to go higher what happens if something doesn't? Isn't that why General Mills (GIS), J.M. Smucker (SJM) and Church & Dwight (CHD) have been flying? United Parcel Service (UPS) downgraded to neutral from buy at Bank of America. The assault on the transports as they lose pricing power. Capacity not a problem — it has caught up. Wells Fargo lowers price target for Abbott (ABT) but thinks it will maintain estimates. We have sold this for the Trust and picked up Procter & Gamble (PG), which has much more pricing power. Constellation Brands (STZ) — JPMorgan says this is the best GARP (growth at a reasonable price) name in sector. CEO Bill Newlands on Mad Money tonight. Sales continue to be strong. Union Pacific (UNP) downgraded to neutral from buy at Bank of America. Analyst Ken Hoexter cites freight rates turning softer, demand is waning. UNP among nine other transportation stocks (out of 28 in his coverage) catching a downgrade. Kroger (KR) upgraded to buy at Bank of America on improving market share trends. Valuation is attractive. Higher grocery prices are being passed through to consumers. CrowdStrike (CRWD) Deutsche Bank and Mizuho both raise price targets ... highly encouraging. Margin pressure on Terex (TEX) ... going lower. Colgate-Palmolive (CL) initiated with a market perform at Raymond James. Procter & Gamble initiated with a buy. International Paper (IP) price target lowered to $53 from $54 at Citi, cites weaker consumer sentiment, inflation and uncertainty around China and Europe. CarMax (KMX) price target lowered to $125 from $158 at Oppenheimer. Ball (BLL) price target lowered to $96 from $104 at Citi, maintains neutral rating. Stifel loves service companies. XPO Logistics (XPO) price target lowered to $90 from $94 at JPMorgan. Lowered estimates, truckload market conditions "rapidly deteriorated" in back half of March. Fragile. Palo Alto Networks (PANW) target raised to $720 from $610 at BTIG. Multiple product categories — best in show. Walmart (WMT) price target lifted to $171 from $168 at Davidson.
