Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to visit Washington next week during his trip to the U.S. for the United Nations General Assembly, as Congress debates a massive $24 billion aid package for Ukraine.
In Russia, some lawmakers have proposed banning WhatsApp if the messaging app, which just launched its "channels" service globally, offers channels in Russian. This would be an attempt to further control the Russian information space, one U.S.-based think tank wrote.
Elsewhere, Ukrainian forces say they have seized the eastern village of Andriivka in the Donetsk region, which is partially occupied by Russia. They also said they shot down 17 Russian-launched drones. CNBC could not verify the information on the ground.
