How to find role models for inspiration

Role models are everywhere. Choose people who succeed based on the known attributes for success and whose values resonate with yours.

Having role models you can identify with and model your behavior after is an important way to learn. Don't just look to the superstars; many of them are exceptions to the rule. Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of college to launch and grow multi-billion businesses. However, research finds that education and experience are the ingredients for a successful entrepreneur.

Role models can be family members, business colleagues or friends. Of course, they can also be people written about in The Wall Street Journal. Don't just choose people with skyrocketing businesses. Choose people with an ethical and moral compass that resonates with your values.
