Hawaiian Airlines CEO: We’re bullish on growth

Hawaiian Airlines shares have soared 140 percent in the last 12 months, and the company has big plans to keep up the momentum.

"We are actually pretty bullish on growth," President and CEO Mark Dunkerley said Tuesday on CNBC's "Fast Money."

Come April 16, the airline will start sending flights to Beijing Capital International airport, adding to their list of international destinations.

"Clearly when we start in Beijing, we're waiting to see how that plans out; we have high expectations. If it meets those expectations there are an enormous number of large population centers in China that could provide us with traffic for service to Hawaii," he said.

Dunkerley said the region holds a wealth of potential. "Asia is a tremendous source of growth for us and we're playing a macro shift towards people getting to that income level where they can contemplate international trips. So when we look ahead we're seeing a lot of growth and prospect," he added.

On Monday, Hawaiian Airlines ranked third among all airlines in the Airline Quality Rating survey and first in the "On-Time Performance" category.
