Tesla's big reveal? Talk of self-driving features
Speculation continues to grow over Tesla Motors' highly anticipated announcement next week, fueled in part by comments made on Twitter by the electric car maker's CEO.
In recent conference calls, Chief Executive Elon Musk has talked about autonomous driving technology being implemented in its vehicles over next couple of years.

According to a Bloomberg report, which cited an unnamed person familiar with the carmaker's plans, Tesla may be taking its first steps in that direction by unveiling a suite of new high-tech features including one that can keep the car in its lane.
Musk's tweet on Oct. 1 said that the company would unveil "the D and something else" on Oct. 9.
Automated lane technology is expected to be the next area of technology automakers will be including in cars. Some features would be used on highways with clear lane markings, where on-board sensors could work to help keep a car in its lane.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra has said GM expects to put elements of this technology in some of its cars in the coming years, and Ford is also said to be close as well.
Cars like the BMW X5 and the Mercedes Benz E-Class due out in 2014 will have basic features like traffic-jam assistance, which will help maneuver the car though congestion.
