Bill Gates sees artificial intelligence as a big threat
Another tech pro is sounding the alarm on artificial intelligence.
During a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" discussion Wednesday, Bill Gates said that we should be worried about AI becoming too powerful.
In response to a question about whether or not machine intelligence could become a threat, the former Microsoft CEO gave the following answer:
"First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent," he wrote. "That should be positive if we manage it well," Gates said.

"A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don't understand why some people are not concerned."
Gates is not the first notable technologist to warn of the power of AI.
Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors and Space X, also has voiced concerns about machine learning and has gone as far as calling it potentially more dangerous than nuclear weapons.
During a speech at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in October, Musk said, "With artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon."
