Controversial cybersecurity pioneer John McAfee has stayed in the public eye this year, declaring a presidential candidacy and running into trouble with the law. To close out 2015, McAfee is crowdfunding his next security project.

The McAfee Antivirus founder opened an Indiegogo campaign this week for Everykey, which he claims can securely unlock users' devices and enter their passwords. The project, billed as a "master key," has already raised more than $57,000, easily surpassing its $20,000 goal.
