Apple Music refresh to be unveiled at WWDC: Report

Apple is revamping its music streaming services' interface and is planning on announcing the refresh at the Worldwide Developers Conference next month.

Bloomberg reported that Apple is looking to build out its digital radio service and smooth integration of its streaming and download platforms, citing sources familiar with the product.

The acquisition of Beats Music was meant to help Apple regain its role as a music technology leader, but hasn't done so and has in fact resulted in staffers leaving the company, according to Bloomberg.

Last week, CEO Tim Cook told CNBC that the company's services segment saw its best ever revenue in the March quarter, excluding sums from a patent settlement in an earlier quarter. Services brought in $5.99 billion in the second quarter — topping analyst estimates of $5.78 billion, according to StreetAccount.

The 13 million subscriber number for Apple Music is just a fraction of Apple's installed user base of one billion indicating huge growth potential, Francisco Jeronimo, research director for European mobile devices at IDC, told CNBC in a phone interview last week.

Apple declined to comment to CNBC.
