Alex Toys recalls 91,000 toy sets sold at Barnes & Noble, Zulily
Alex Toys recalled about 91,000 sets of toys in the U.S. on Tuesday, saying the toys posed a choking hazard to young children.
Alex Jr. Baby Builders, First Pops and First Snaps, which were sold at Barnes & Noble, Land of Nod and online at Zulily.com, contain an assortment of plastic shapes that are designed to be snapped together to make structures. However, the building sets can detach and pose a choking risk to young children, according to the report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
An additional 5,600 sets were sold in Canada.
No injuries have been reported, however, there have been 22 reports of small parts detaching from the sets.
The Baby Builders sets were sold from Dec. 2009 through June 2016 for about $28. The First Pops were sold from March 2009 through June 2016 for about $18 and the First Snaps were sold from March 2009 through Oct. 2010 for about $18.
Consumers are encouraged to contact Alex Toys for a prepaid shipping envelope to return the products. The company will offer a full refund once it receives the returned set.
