MCD, a Golden-Arches Double Top?

Shares of McDonald's offered the best value within the fast-food sector, StockMonster's Guy Adami said Monday.

"Although McDonald's trades at 18, 18½ times forward earnings … it still trades at a discount to other mature companies like Burger King, like Wendy's and like Yum, so it's actually cheap on valuation against its peers," he said.

On CNBC's "Fast Money," Adami noted that the company was holding its own in Europe and that CEO Don Thompson, on the job for a year, had gotten his "got his sea legs."

Although its all-time high stock price was $103, Adami said that he saw it going north of there.

Tim Seymour of EmergingMoney.com took the bear case.

"It's expensive to itself," he said. "This is a company that today, sure, global same-store sales came in at plus-2.6, but if you take out some of the effects of trading days, some holidays, this was actually not a great outcome on a very low bar in a fast-food space that's struggling quite a bit."

Seymour also noted that McDonald's was not growing in Asia, adding, "Other emerging markets are not giving them the gusto."

Dan Nathan of RiskReversal.com noted that it was a crowded space, with the likes of popular burger joints such as Smashburger.

Josh Brown of Fusion Analytics, too, wasn't buying.

"It's a golden arches double-top," he said.
