Bulgaria's December Consumer Prices up 1.2% on Month

Bulgaria's consumer prices rose by 1.2% in December from a month earlier, the government reported Monday.

Prices at the end of 2006 were 6.5% up compared with December 2005, the National Statistics Institute said in a statement.

Food prices increased by 2.5% in December over November, prices of services and of non-food products rose by 0.3%.

Consumer prices in 2006 rose by 7.3% over the previous year, the institute said.
