Rep. Paul G. Rogers, who served Florida for 20 years in the House of Representatives, was a co-sponsor of the Clean Air Act Extension of 1970, one of the most important pieces of  U.S. legislation in the 20th century, and chairman of the House Subcommittee on Health and the Environment from 1971-1979. He also sponsored the American Cancer Act of 1971.
