Ohio Businessman Wins CNBC.com Portfolio Challenge

Ohio has a new millionaire today. Lakeland, Ohio, businessman Stephen Weber, a systems analyst for The Cleveland Clinic, has successfully picked the hottest stocks during the 10-week "CNBC.com Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge" and won the $1 million Grand Prize.

During the contest, which started Nov. 27, aspiring portfolio moguls registered at CNBC.com and for their fictional trading account of 1 million "CNBC Bucks," and the ability to trade individual stocks on the NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX exchanges.

Individuals were awarded bonus money for their trading accounts by answering questions on CNBC.com based on news and interviews seen on CNBC.com’s video-on-demand section and on CNBC television. In addition, 10 weekly winners each won prizes (see more details using the link below).

The Second Prize winner Bette Lockhart of Tucson, Arizona, won $200,000. Third Prize winner Debra Lewis of Effingham, Ill., won $100,000.
