Citi, BofA & Goldman – What Now?

After JPMorgan failed to dazzle the Street what should you expect as Citigroup , Bank of America and Goldman Sachs  report next week.

Brian Foran of Nomura thinks the major read through from JPM results is uncertainty about how banks will be able to grow again.

Foran tells us that if you dig down into the results you see JPMorgan is uncertain about their ability to grow revenue and their cautious about their ability to lower expenses. And Foran says that’s not just a JPMorgan problem. It’s an industry problem.

Guy Adami is also bearish. "In terms of a read through for other banks, if things are bad at JPMorgan they're probably twice as bad at BofA."

"Investment banking wasn't good at JPMorgan," adds Karen Finerman. (Fees from investment banking dropped 31 percent.) That bodes poorly for Goldman and Morgan ," adds Karen Finerman.

The ever bullish Joe Terranova sees a bright spot. He says "mortgage production revenue was up at JPM." Also fewer customers were late paying bills. "I think that bodes well for Wells Fargo  and I'm long WFC."
