U2’s Bono Invests in Dropbox
U2’s lead singer Bono and band guitarist The Edge have invested in the cloud storage start-up company Dropbox.
Dropbox announced the rockstars are investors via Twitter earlier Monday.
“@Dropbox is excited to welcome Bono & The Edge as investors. Thanks for the support and look forward to great things!” the tweet stated.
How much the rockstars invested in the San Francisco-based start-up was not released. But it’s likely the two musicians were part of the company’s $250 million round of funding last October, according to VentureBeat.
Bono is known for his investments in technology companies through Elevation Partners, the private equity firm he co-founded. Some companies Elevation Partners has invested in include Facebook, Yelp, and Palm.
Dropbox has grown in popularity as it allows multiple users to access data stored on a single location, and without having to email those large files back and forth.
