Stocks to Watch: HPQ, FB, P & More

Check out which companies are making headlines after-the-bell Wednesday:

Hewlett-Packard - The Dow component posted earnings of 98 cents a share on revenue of $30.7 billion, easily topping expectations for 91 cents a share on sales of $29.92 billion. In addition, the firm announced it will cut 27,000 positionsas part of restructuring efforts. Shares jumped in extended-hours trading. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

Facebook - The social network giant may be from the Nasdaq to the NYSE , according to reports, following the disappointing IPO last week on the Nasdaq. The NYSE denied the report, while the Nasdaq and Facebook declined to comment. Shares of Facebook edged higher in extended-hours trading after the firm logged a gain in the regular session. Meanwhile, Knight Capital warned its second-quarter results will be adversely affected by losses related to the problems during Facebook's Nasdaq listing. Shares were lower in extended-hours trading. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

NetApp - The computer storage and data management company posted earnings of 66 cents on revenue of $1.7 billion, topping expectations for 63 cents a share on revenue of $1.68 billion. However, shares plunged after the firm handed in first-quarter earnings and revenue guidance that disappointed. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

Pandora - The Internet radio company posted a narrower-than-expected loss of 9 cents a share. Analysts expected the firm to post a loss of 18 cents a share. The firm posted revenue of $80.8 million, surpassing expectations for $74 million. Shares rallied in extended-hours trading. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

Johnson & Johnson - The FDA rebuffed the drugmaker's blood thinner Xarelto, which is meant to reduce the risk of new recurring heart attacks and strokes with people with heart problems. Shares were slightly lower in extended-hours trading. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

MediciNova - The pharmaceutical company tanked after news that its asthma drug did not meet the main goal of a second mid-stage clinical trial. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

Onyx Pharmaceuticals - Bernstein initiated coverage of the company with an "outperform" rating ad a price target of $74. Shares edged higher in extended-hours trading. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

H&R Block - The tax preparer announced Gregory Macfarlane will be its CFO starting next month. Shares were unchanged in extended-hours trading. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

PVH - The apparel company posted earnings of $1.30 a share, excluding one-time items, on revenue of $1.43 billion, topping expectations for $1.26 a share on sales of $14 billion. In addition, the firm handed in a better-than-expected guidance for the quarter and boosted its outlook for the year, sending shares higher in extended-hours trading. Synopsys - The software and programming company posted 53 cents a share, excluding one-time items, slightly less than the 55 cents a share analysts had expected. But the firm posted revenue of $432.6 million, beating expectations of $417 million. In addition, the firm handed in a better-than-expected outlook for the quarter and the year.
