Donal L. Mulligan is executive vice president and chief financial officer of General Mills. In this capacity, Mulligan has overall company responsibility for worldwide finance, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, external reporting, internal audit, tax, treasury, global business services and information systems. He is also a Trustee of the General Mills Foundation.
Mulligan originally joined General Mills in September 1998 as vice president of finance for General Mills International. Following that role, Mulligan moved into the VP, Finance-Technical Community role (2004-2006) and served as vice president and treasurer (2006-2007) before being elected executive vice president in 2007.
Prior to joining General Mills, Mulligan spent 11 years with PepsiCo and its spin-off Yum Brands, serving as vice president, Finance-Americas for Yum Brands (1997-1998), vice president, Finance-Latin America (1996-1997), senior director, Finance-Asia (1994-1996) and finance director, Canada (1991-1994), for PepsiCo Restaurants International. He originally joined PepsiCo in 1987 as finance manager for PepsiCo Restaurants International. Before joining PepsiCo, Mulligan worked for GTE in its Financial Associate Program for two years.
Mulligan received a BA from Duke University and earned an MBA in finance from the University of Michigan Business School.
Externally, Mulligan is a member of the board of directors of Tennant Company, the Aim Higher Foundation, the University of Michigan's Ross Business School and the Duke University Financial Economics Center.
Mulligan resides in Edina, Minnesota, with his wife, Diane, and their four children.
