Harry Singh
Blue Collar Millionaire Harry grew up in a hard working community in Punjab, India. In a village where money was hard to come by, Harry's father held down several jobs to keep food on the table in addition to being the priest at their village temple. In 1983, when Harry turned 23 he was set up with his wife in an arranged marriage. In 1984, Harry and his wife officially immigrated into New York City. Having no formal education beyond age 14 and no money to obtain a formal education, Harry began to work as a busboy and taxi driver to support his family. Inspired by long lines he waited in at mechanic shops, he got the idea to open a car mechanic shop in Brooklyn. Harry continued to grow the business and by 1994, he had seven stations and over 20 employees. By 2011, Harry was able to purchase 35 properties from an Exxon Divestment group, which expanded his company to over 55 stores and 45 gas stations. Harry, who once lived in a 12 story apartment with no elevator and one room for the entire family to sleep, has come a long way. Harry now lives in a 22,000 sq. ft $25 million home in one of the most prestigious areas of Long Island, New York. His home features a custom salt water pool to reflect the ocean floor, a round driveway with a $100,000 water fountain, custom commissioned artwork ranging from $20,000-$75,000 each and several custom painted ceilings.
