LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sean Patrick Flanery, Kristanna Loken and Chris Carmack, star in “Dark Power,” a suspense drama about FBI agents who discover that a crime-ridden city’s municipal government holds many secrets when the mayor and his re-election opponent are both assassinated. Morgan Fairchild is set for a supporting role.
Miguel Pagan and Irmgard Pagan are producing under the CineVia banner with filming in Puerto Rico and Los Angeles. John Milton Branton directs from a script written by Alberto G. Rodriguez and Miguel Pagan, based on a story written by Miguel Pagan. Christian Luna is the line producer.
The producers’ first film,“Last Will,” starred James Brolin, Tom Berenger and Tatum O’Neal and was produced under the CineVia banner and distributed internationally by Spotlight Pictures.
The producers are both attorneys who moved into film production seven years ago. “We identified a niche in independent film production that was not adequately served,” said Miguel Pagan. “The international audience hungers for American made action movies starring actors with whom they’re familiar from movies and television shows. However, distribution and exhibition deals need to be tailored to their scheduling and financial models.”
The FBI agents in “Dark Power” are played by Sean Patrick Flanery (“Boondock Saints,” “Powder”) and Kristanna Loken (“Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,” “BloodRayne”). The mayor's trusted assistant is Chris Carmack (“The O.C.,” “The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations”). Vice-Mayor is played by Morgan Fairchild (“General Hospital,” “The Seduction”)
CineVia plans additional productions that will be tailored to fill the needs of all distribution platforms - theatrical, television, digital - featuring actors with appeal in multiple international territories.
