Generational Capital Markets Brings International Buyers to the Middle-Market

DALLAS, Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Many middle-market business owners make the assumption that because of their size, buyers of the business will be located either locally, regionally, or perhaps nationally. And for most this is true, especially if they approach the market without the aid of an M&A advisory firm with the necessary resources. But not all mergers and acquisitions firms have the experience, processes, and skills that are needed to effectively market middle-market companies internationally.

Generational Capital Markets (GCM) is an example of an M&A firm with a proven track record of finding a variety of buyers for its clients. The Company has developed a reputation for M&A excellence both in North America and indeed throughout the world. This can be clearly seen in the recognition the firm receives from its peers.

Earlier this month for example, GCM was awarded a prestigious 2012 International M&A Award from The M&A Advisor for its sale of Tarasoft to CoreLogic. This was the 4th annual International M&A Advisor Awards and GCM won in the "Professional Services Deal of the Year – B2B" category.

Accepting the award at the gala held at the New York Athletic Club on October 10th was Brenen Hofstadter, MBA, CM&AA, and President of Generational Capital Markets. Mr. Hofstadter was also a faculty panelist for the 2012 M&A China Connects conference hosted in conjunction with the awards ceremony.

What makes winning this award most meaningful is that is based on peer recognition. A panel of M&A experts from throughout the mergers and acquisition industry review all deal submissions and based on their collective years of experience, choose those recipients who represent the very best in deal-making skills and experience.

"To be recognized by our peers for our international work is a real honor," stated Ryan Binkley, President of Generational Equity. "It is a testament to our team's effort to increase our brand globally and bring foreign buyers to our client companies. We thank The M&A Advisor for their recognition."

Mr. Hofstadter was assisted in completing the transaction by Chris Heckert, Vice President of GCM. About the deal, Mr. Hofstadter stated "Cross-border deals like the sale of Tarasoft (British Columbia) to Corelogic (California) are becoming a larger portion of our firm's total mix, and we expect this trend to continue. Five of my team's last ten deals have included a foreign buyer or seller, including the sale of a client company to Konica Minolta Business Services, Tokyo, in August of 2012."

GCM's goal is to bring Wall Street like M&A experience, tools, and skills to an underserved middle-market segment. This is especially true when approaching off-shore buyers with investment opportunities like Tarasoft. Mr. Hofstadter added, "Our ability to find and negotiate with foreign buyers is a unique advantage in our niche. We bring a combination of deep commitment to our clients with an array of international M&A relationships and negotiating skills."

"The award winners represent the best of the M&A industry in 2011 and earned these honors by standing out in a group of very impressive finalists," said Roger Aguinaldo, CEO and Founder of The M&A Advisor. "From the lower middle market transaction to the multi-billion Deal of the Year, we are recognizing the leading transactions, firms and individuals that represent the highest levels of performance."
