Celanese increases acrylic emulsion prices

DALLAS -- Specialty chemicals company Celanese Corp. said Friday that it will increase the price of acrylic-based emulsions sold in the Americas.

Celanese said that the price for pure acrylic and styrene acrylic emulsions will increase by 5 cents per wet pound and the price for vinyl acrylic emulsions will increase by 3 cents per wet pound beginning Nov. 15, or as contracts allow.

The company said this price increase affects applications for adhesives, paint, carpet, paper and more.

Celanese is based in Dallas.

Shares of the company increased 39 cents to close at $38.38.
