Manganaro MidAtlantic Wins Third Consecutive Excellence in Construction Award

BELTSVILLE, Md., Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Associated Builders and Contractors Metro Washington and Virginia chapters recently celebrated its 31st annual "Excellence in Construction" awards ceremony. Construction and contracting companies in the region view it as one of the most highly sought after awards they can receive for the number of man-hours and quality of work they put into the vast array of construction projects undertaken each year. For the third consecutive year, Manganaro MidAtlantic (www.manganaro.com/midatlantic) received an Excellence in Construction Award, and for the third time in seven years, they also took home the Sub-Contractor of the Year Award in Drywall. The focus of their success was on the massive National Geospatial Intelligence Agency building project.

As the largest federal building project since the Pentagon was constructed, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Campus East is one of Manganaro's most impressive undertakings. Located in Springfield, Virginia, the NGA facility is massive, with two wings that are 900 feet long by 130 feet wide, and connected with a high-flying atrium. The whole of the construction took the effort of many different sub-contractors under the management of the joint venture of Clark Construction Group and Balfour Beatty Construction, along with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Manganaro MidAtlantic has worked on numerous occasions in concert with both Clark Construction and Balfour Beatty, who recognize Manganaro as the best possible choice for drywall, interior, exterior, and acoustical work.

The sheer size of the structure meant that the Manganaro MidAtlantic team was presented with new challenges. With over 2.2 million square feet of total office space, Manganaro MidAtlantic was responsible for nearly every specialty component found in drywall and acoustical ceiling projects, which included metal and wood ceilings, column covers, acoustical and veneer plaster, and exterior insulation and finishing systems. Although it is one of the largest drywall contracts they have taken on, Manganaro MidAtlantic brought with them the same level of expertise and efficiency in which they are continually recognized.

Winning the distinguished awards sponsored by ABC is a constant reminder of the continual hard work and dedication Manganaro MidAtlantic pours into every contract they receive.
