BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Stephen M. Weiner, a Member and Chair of the Health Law Practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will moderate a panel at the New England Israel Business Council’s Life Sciences Summit. The summit will take place November 5 and 6 in Waltham, MA.
Mr. Weiner is moderating a panel entitled, “How Can Life Sciences Companies Help Providers Meet the Health Care Reform Challenges?” Regina Herzlinger, Ph.D, Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School, will give the keynote address. Since its formation, Mr. Weiner has served as the president of The HealthWell Foundation, one of the leading national charitable organizations providing financial assistance to underinsured persons in need of high cost drug treatments. He served as a board member of the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and as a member of the House of Delegates of the Massachusetts Easter Seal Society.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Weiner served as Chairman of the Massachusetts Rate Setting Commission, Special Assistant to the Governor of Massachusetts for health policy and Director of the Boston University Center for Law and Health Sciences. Mr. Weiner was named “Lawyer of the Year” for 2011 for Health Care Law in Boston by Best Lawyers.
