WASHINGTON, Nov. 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) congratulates President Barack Obama on his election victory. The President won with historically high levels of support from Hispanic voters. According to an impreMedia-Latino Decisions poll released Tuesday, President Obama won 75 percent of Hispanic voters nationwide. High levels of support from this community enabled him to win key battleground states, like Colorado, Ohio, and Virginia.
"The Hispanic community is reshaping the political community as powerfully as it has changed America's business community," said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. "Hispanic business leaders are transforming every American industry and are demonstrating their commitment to rebuilding the American economy. On Tuesday, our community clearly showed its political might is just as strong. President Obama has worked well withm the USHCC and other Latino leadership organizations to ensure that our community's priorities are at the forefront of the national agenda, and that effort was rewarded Tuesday night."

The USHCC supported several key achievements of the President's first term, such as the Affordable Care Act, Wall Street Reform, support for DREAMers, and the creation of new free trade agreements with South Korea, Panama, and Colombia. The USHCC Legislative Agenda reflects the Hispanic business community's priorities for the next four years.
