The Paradies Shops Engages Futurestep To Support Growth

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Paradies Shops, the oldest and most respected retailer in the airport concessions industry, has announced the addition of several planning and buying positions in its Atlanta Support Center to complement growth initiatives in the US and Canada. Working in partnership with Futurestep, Paradies will source top talent for these strategic career-focused opportunities.

Futurestep, a Korn/Ferry company (NYSE:KFY) and global industry leader in high-impact recruitment solutions, will lead the recruitment drive, identifying candidates that possess critical key attributes and exhibit styles that match the company's deep-seated mission statement and core values. The initiative is part of a multi-phased approach of Paradies' overall plan to build a world-class buying organization in Atlanta.

"With the naming of Karen Johnston as senior vice president and chief merchandising officer in June of this year, we immediately benefited from her expertise in structuring and positioning large national retailers for growth and success," explained Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of The Paradies Shops. "Through Karen's leadership and development of these new team members, we look forward to additionally increasing efficiencies in our product sourcing, selection and inventory management programs."

"It has been an extreme pleasure to learn about the exciting and complex world of airport retailing from the industry leader," said Karen Johnston, senior vice president and chief merchandising officer. "We are sincerely looking forward to enhancing our talented team with top tier merchants who have a successful history of sourcing and securing product that consumers simply cannot resist."

The Paradies Shops was established in 1960 as a family business and has established itself as a leader and industry icon. Paradies has been named "Best Airport Retailer" by Airport Revenue News for the past 17 years and was voted a National Best Places to Work in 2012.

"We are excited to partner with The Paradies Shops whose commitment to its people is immediately evident in everything they do and is supported by the host of Best Places to Work awards they have received," commented Jeanne MacDonald, vice president and general manager, RPO & Projects North America for Futurestep.
