Canada August producer prices edge down 0.1 percent

Oct 1 (Reuters) - Canadian producer prices fell 0.1 percent in August from July, largely as a result of lower prices for motor vehicles and other transportation equipment, Statistics Canada said on Monday.

Raw materials prices climbed 3.4 percent in the month, the largest gain since November 2011, mostly because of higher prices for mineral fuels, specifically crude oil.
